WINE HOUSE is International Sommelier Guild (ISG) is the official representative in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. ISG was founded in North America in 1982, ISG was created to deliver consistent, high-quality wine education worldwide.
ISG programs are based on standardized, professionally developed study materials that are continuously updated to reflect global industry trends. Regardless of where students study, the diploma is issued according to the same international standards and is recognized worldwide.
Courses are led by certified instructors with real industry experience who regularly refine their expertise to maintain the highest teaching standards.
Today, ISG schools and representatives operate across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, forming a global network of wine education.

Introductory Certificate in Wine (IWC)

The first-level program is an excellent starting point for anyone wishing to explore the world of wine — whether aspiring sommeliers or enthusiastic beginners. The course provides structured, practical knowledge of major wine styles, key grape varieties, and their origins.
During the course you will:
• learn the fundamentals of viticulture and winemaking;
• understand how climate and region influence wine character;
• acquire essential professional wine terminology;
• learn how to read wine labels and navigate classifications;
• understand the principles of food and wine compatibility;
• develop tasting technique and quality assessment skills.
After completing the course, choosing wine in a shop, restaurant, or professional setting will become clear and confident.
All training materials are available in Latvian and the training is conducted in Latvian. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an internationally recognized ISG certificate.
Advanced Certificate in Wine (AWC)
The second-level program is designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge and develop professional tasting competence. The course provides a detailed understanding of the world’s wine regions, styles, and diversity.
As part of the program, you will:
• study viticulture and winemaking processes in greater depth;
• develop a systematic approach to tasting and evaluation;
• learn blind tasting as a professional tool;
• analyze the principal regions of the Old and New World;
• explore wine traditions of various countries;
• gain knowledge of sparkling, fortified wines, and other alcoholic beverages;
• master professional food and wine pairing principles.
This course builds confidence in professional wine practice and provides a deeper understanding of style and quality.
Training is conducted in Latvian or Russian.
Upon completion, you will receive an internationally recognized ISG certificate.
